92-Year-Old Korean War Veteran Receives a New Ramp

Local 743 Union Carpenters volunteered their time and skills to help a local elderly veteran.

Local 743 Carpenters volunteered their time over the weekend to help a deserving 92-year-old veteran better enter and exit his home by building him an ADA accessible ramp.

Paul Thompson, the recipient, served during the Korean War. He was stationed in Alaska as an army geographical surveyor. Paul is 91-years-old and is unable to enter/exit his home without assistance due to mobility issues and no ramp access at present. In collaboration with Rebuilding Together Kern County, Local 743 Union Carpenters were proud to give back to Paul and show their appreciation for the sacrifice he made to serve our country.
