As Union Carpenters, we know that progress is built with hard work, determination, and solidarity. Black tradespeople have played a critical role in shaping our industry, overcoming barriers, and paving the way for future generations. From the skilled hands that helped construct this country’s infrastructure to the leadership that drives our Union forward, their impact is undeniable.
Moving forward, we must also recognize that the fight for equality is not over. In troubling times, when compassion and empathy are under attack, we must be steadfast in our values. The strength of our Union has always come from our unity—standing together to ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and equal opportunities for all. We will not allow fear or division to undo the progress we’ve made.
The February let us remember that there is strength in diversity, and together, we will continue to build a future where every Carpenter—no matter their background—has the opportunity to succeed.
