Our BOOTS and Brothers’ Keeper pre-apprenticeship programs carve a pathway for individuals interested in a career in construction.
The WSRCC is often referred to as the “Union of second opportunity” and for two Local 661 members, that was just the case.
In a recent visit to the Sylmar Training Center, Los Angeles KCAL 5 highlighted our BOOTS and Brothers’ Keeper pre-apprenticeship programs and had the opportunity to speak with two of the program’s graduates. Journeyman Carpenter Sergio Lambert and 1st Period Apprentice Aileen Arreola completed their respective programs and have since found success in their careers as Union Carpenters. They encourage others who have had difficult pasts, much like theirs, to seek consider careers in the trades as an option.
