CAREER CONNECTIONS LAUNCHES AT LAUSD

A Launch Event Was Held at Huntington Park High School.

LAUSD and Southwest Carpenters Career Connections announced the launch of the premier Pre-Apprenticeship program in 12 schools across the district with 1500 students enrolled. The second largest school district in the US has brought Building Career Trades education back to their classrooms with this program.

Students who complete the two-year Career Connections curriculum can gain access to the Southwest Carpenters Apprenticeship program and embark on a career as a Union Carpenter.

The launch event was held at Huntington Park High School in Huntington Park, California. It was attended by Huntington Park Mayor Graciela Ortiz and Huntington Park High School Principal Garabaldi.  The instructor of the course and his 20 students were on hand to meet actual Union Carpenters and receive T-shirts and Career Connections swag.  Telemundo covered the event.
