CONGRESSMAN AGUILAR VISITS ONTARIO

The Congressman Visits the I-10 Freeway to See Infrastructure Money at Work.

U.S. Congressman Pete Aguilar Visits Ontario:

Southwest Mountain States Carpenters Local 909 hosted U.S. Representative Pete Aguilar (D, CA-31) for a tour of the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority I-10  Express Lanes Project.  The project puts Union Carpenters to work widening the existing Interstate 10 freeway between the Los Angeles and San Bernardino County line and Interstate 15. Once complete, the express lanes will reduce traffic congestion, enhance trip reliability, and provide long-term congestion management of the corridor in the Inland Empire.

“The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will help fix our roads and bridges and put people back to work,” Rep. Aguilar said. “ The I-10 Express Lanes project is a perfect example of how this legislation can help our region: by creating good-paying jobs and improving the quality of life for residents throughout the Inland Empire. I am so proud to represent the working families of Local 909 and will continue to be a strong voice for jobs and economic opportunity in Congress.”

Last year, Congress passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also known as the bipartisan infrastructure bill, that will create opportunities for working, union families in California rebuilding our roads and bridges, upgrading our schools and buildings, expanding transit, and creating more resilient energy and water systems.

KABC-TV was on hand and covered the visit. Watch the clip Here.
