Building affordable housing was in Fariba Atighehchi’s DNA. Her father built affordable housing, and when she decided to get into real estate, the choice to enter the affordable housing market was a no brainer for her.
Fariba started Western Pacific Housing with her partner Hugh Martinez. Together they are President/CEO and Vice President of Development. They understand the need for affordable housing in Southern California. Moreover, they recognize the stress that housing costs can put on a family.
They share a belief that affordable housing drives community wealth. Community wealth is achieved when local workers build local projects: workers spend their money in local businesses who cater to, and give back to the same community, and so on.
WPH became a signatory contractor with Southwest Mountain States Carpenters and their newest building in Los Angeles – an adaptive reuse project with 122 units of affordable housing for senior citizens – is projected to open in 2022.
