Labor Day

Locals across the SWMSRCC came out to celebrate Labor Day.

On September 4th, the SWMSRCC gathered in Carpenter strong cities across California, Montana, Alaska, Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, and Arizona for Labor Day. Every year on the first Monday in September, the American labor movement- with workers from every trade across the country- is celebrated by family, and friends at picnics and parades across the country.

At each gathering, the Southwest Mountain States Carpenters Union takes the lead on this special day, hosting Labor Day events with hundreds if not thousands of carpenters in attendance. This makes perfect sense because the Carpenters started Labor Day. We lobbied and we fought at the forefront of the labor movement, and we are the ones that that made sure that this special day was founded to commemorate the blood, sweat, and tears of the workers that built this great country.
