Union Carpenter Jenna Dorrough, from Local 909, recently became a “Journeywoman” while working on the LA Metro Purple Line Extension project, where she’s one of the few female Carpenters.
She credits tenacity and hard work for her success. “It’s been rough. I’ve experienced every emotion. I’ve had good times, bad times, and struggle, but that comes with growing, learning, and advancing to the next level,” says Jenna. “It’s really built me up and I’m grateful for that.”
She advices other Carpenters to have a good attitude, ask questions, be willing to learn and meet people, as well as taking advantage of any opportunity that comes their way.
Jenna is thankful she’s now part of history with a project that’s going to endure. “I always try to stand out and do my best.”
