On The Spot: Ready Frost

Ready’s advice to newcomers is practical: attend meetings, build relationships with representatives, respect your foreman, and take training seriously—actions that he believes can truly change lives.

Meet Ready Frost, a dedicated member of the Montana Local 82 Carpenters’ Union, whose journey into general carpentry has been nothing short of transformative. With three and a half years under his belt, Ready exemplifies the spirit of craftsmanship and community that defines Union membership.

From the outset, Ready has been passionate about, “building it from the ground up,” a metaphor for both his projects and his career. His experience in the Carpenters Union has not only honed his skills but has also given him a sense of freedom and capability. “My life’s changed because now I’m free,” he reflects, emphasizing how Union training has equipped him with the confidence to tackle any task.

Reflecting on his growth, Ready credits his current project for expanding his skills, particularly in leadership and advanced building techniques. His advice to newcomers is practical: attend meetings, build relationships with representatives, respect your foreman, and take training seriously—actions that he believes can truly change lives.
