Southern California retirees and members of honorary Local 108 visited the Soboba Resort for a day trip filled with food, fun, and yes, some gambling.
Buses picked up members at Local 714 and Local 951 on their way to the resort. The retirees took photos and shared stories of their time in the field. Honorary Local 108 has been around for twenty years with twenty five retirees who are still active members of the Union.
President of Local 108, Larry Howe says, “We are a chartered local, and you don’t have to lose your membership in your primary local union to join with us. We are essentially a retiree club and we’re always looking for new members. We started doing this twenty years ago and we’ve been going on outings and doing philanthropic work like building wheelchair ramps for the disabled that can’t afford to have it made.”
This event is one of many activities for our retirees that take place across the Southwest.
