Local 555 & Local 1607 Millwrights join to celebrate Cesar Chavez Day

To honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez, Carpenters partnered with the Cesar E. Chavez Peace and Justice Committee of Denver. Carpenters from Locals 555 and Local 1607 marched alongside other Unions through the city of Denver with theme of the March was Reclaiming male responsibility though nonviolence. Following the march, Carpenters and their families were invited to participate in the day’s festivities at the Cesar E. Chavez Park.

 

Marisa Alcaraz for LA City District 6th

SWMS Union Carpenters joined Marisa Alcaraz in Van Nuys this Saturday to show their support leading up to election day. Alcaraz is a candidate to for the District 6 City Council seat. She is the daughter of a Union Carpenters and has been a proven advocate for the working class. Be sure to get out and vote in the April 4th Special election.

 

Local 743 fill their CUPP

Bakersfield Carpenters in collaboration with Rebuilding Together Kern County, donated their time this weekend to help build an accessibility ramp for Korean War Veteran, Paul Thomson. The 91-year-old, was having trouble accessing his home without a ramp, and with help from Carpenters Local 743 he is able to enjoy more days outdoors.
