Lunch with the EST at LACMA
On Thursday, EST Rodriguez visited Union Carpenters for a lunch at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The Clark Construction project is currently employing 130 Carpenters from Largo Concrete. EST Rodriguez spoke of how important it is to look out for the wellbeing of our fellow workers and to keep our heads on a swivel to sure that each and every day all of our Brothers and Sisters return home safely to our families.
Evening with Industry
Last week, Local 951 hosted its first Evening with Industry event of the year in Riverside. The event was in partnership with Tomorrow’s Talent and Hemet Unified School District. Contractors from Best Interiors, Swinerton Builders, Hensel Phelps, Inland Building Construction and Marin Concrete participated in advising students. This event served as an opportunity for the new generation of Carpenters to take the first step towards a career in the trades.
Boy Scout Derby Car Build
Over the weekend, Local 1977 hosted Cub Scout Pack 143 for a Derby Car Build. Carpenters assisted the Pack with building pinewood derby cars, teaching them basic wood handling skills to craft their derby cars. This is the first time Las Vegas Union Carpenters aided the Boy Scouts. We look forward to this springs derby races with the Boys and Girl Scouts of southern Nevada.
