Design Build Competition Coming to Huntington Beach
This week, more than 200 students from more than 30 high schools and community colleges across Southern California will take over Golden West College in Huntington Beach College for the 38th annual Construction Industry Education Foundation’s Design Build Competition.
During the four-month program, each team is challenged to design and prepare several construction documents according to criteria outlined by CIEF. Teams will build their structures during the two-day competition and will be judged by Union Carpenters from the SWMSRCC on the completion of design, construction, code compliance, and safety of their projects.
Local 619 Graduation
On Saturday, Local 619 will graduate San Diego’s class of Journeyman. Local 619 will hold the ceremony on the morning of March 25th. We congratulate all the graduates and their families on this achievement.
Community Workforce Agreement
The Riverside Unified School District Board of Education voted to approve a Community Workforce Agreement. This CWA is the culmination of years of hard work done by Local 951 and will bring numerous local jobs to our Inland Empire Carpenters.
