Western District Drywall and Flooring Champions Named
The three councils from the Western District came together this past weekend to determine who is best in the West. Congratulations to all that participated. In the end, Brother Juan Soto of Local 909 was named Drywall Champion and Brother Julio Cervantes of Local 721 was named Flooring Champion. Stay tuned as UBC Drywall and Flooring Olympic Finals information will be shared soon. We look forward to seeing them put skin in the game and represent the Western District at the UBC finals!
SB 4 & SB 423 Pass the CA Assembly
California’s SB 423 and SB 4 have successfully passed the Assembly. Both bills now return to the California Senate for final sign-off and then to Governor Newsom for approval. Congratulations Scott Wiener and all Carpenters that worked diligently to ensure the protection of workers while streamlining the construction of new, affordable housing in California.

Keep an eye out for your ballots! On October 3, 2023, voters will decide in a yes/no recall election whether House District 8 Oregon Representative Paul Holvey should be recalled. Holvey is a 33-year Union Carpenter of Local 541 that needs our support. Carpenters, we must vote NO on the recall!
