The Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters members met virtually with the Office of U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) to discuss the importance of Congress passing a major infrastructure package that brings jobs to the Southwest.
Said Frank Hawk, Vice President of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters. “That’s why we are urging Congress to pass the American Jobs Plan and support a package that will not only bring jobs to the Southwest, but also help rebuild our roads and bridges, protect our drinking water, modernize our schools, and repower our energy future. With the support of Sen. Sinema, we can invest in our communities by supporting an infrastructure package that will help rebuild a stronger Arizona and Southwest.”
Every $1 spent on infrastructure in the Southwest is more than doubled in the local economy, creating good-paying jobs in construction and beyond.
SWRCC is conducting a virtual fly-in this week from offices and jobsites across Arizona and other Southwest states. Members will be encouraging Congress across the Southwest to support an infrastructure bill that will put the Southwest Carpenters to work building the nation’s next generation of public infrastructure.
