New Mexico Solidarity Day

Local 1319 hosted a Solidarity Day in Albuquerque over the weekend.  Hundreds of members and their families showed up and took part in the festivities which included food, kids’ activities, music, and raffles.  New Mexico notables also showed their Solidarity including Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, and Labor Leader Dolores Huerta.

Mobility 21 Southern California Transportation Conference

Southwest Mountain States Carpenters will be taking part in this year’s Mobility 21 Summit.  The SWMSRCC is a Platinum Sponsor of the event. Mobility 21 is a coalition that brings together public, business and community stakeholders to pursue regional solutions to the transportation challenges facing Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties.

Local 661 Volunteer Carpenters Renovate Senior Center

Volunteer Carpenters from Local 661 helped to renovate the Bakersfield Senior Center. Dating back to 1954, the Bakersfield Senior Center continues to offer health and wellness services in one of the most historically under-served areas in Kern County.  The Center suffered water damage and needed repairs in order to keep the doors open.  ABC 23 was on-hand for the work.
