SWMSRCC TOP THREE: WEEK OF AUGUST 29

Here is the SWMSRCC Top Three for the week of August 29th.

Unidos Latinos Rally:

100 Carpenters turned out for the Unidos Latinos Rally held for Los Angeles mayoral candidate Karen Bass. The rally, held at Los Angeles City College over weekend, was a show of support for candidate Bass by LA Latinos.   Latinos – especially Latino males – are an important demographic for the Bass campaign. Carpenters from all over the city and county of Los Angeles showed their support for Karen Bass by attending the rally.  The Gallos Politicos from Local 213 were in attendance and interviewed by ABC about their support for Bass for Mayor.

SWMSRCC Leadership Travels North:

EST Rodriguez traveled to Eastern Washington and Idaho to visit Local 59 and Local 635 to talk Jobs, Wages, and Benefits with members and their families.  The EST, along with VP Hartranft gave an overview of the Southwest Mountain States Regional Council, the Training Fund, Pre-Apprenticeship programs, CUPP, and more.  Following the presentation, the EST took questions from the members.
