Union membership grows during the pandemic
According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. workers who are union members rose half a percentage point to 10.8%.
New benefits added to the Participation Has Its Benefits Program
The Participation Has Its Benefits fund will now reimburse qualifying members for their purchase of work boots and non-power tools. To be eligible for this program, a member must have volunteered a minimum of 24 CUPP hours during the 2020 calendar year.
Secretary of Labor nominee Marty Walsh backs OSHA and training programs
Mr. Walsh stated publicly his support for job site safety and for training programs. “A big part of [the] economy of the future are women and people of color,” he said. “One of my top priorities … is to work with each and every one of you to make sure that every American worker gets the opportunity to be successful.”
