Whittier Training Center Hosts SGV Rally

This past Saturday, Union Carpenters and their families came down to Whittier Training Center for the Building Community Wealth in the San Gabriel Valley Rally hosted by Univision’s Dulce Castellanos. The SGV Rally, which marks the first large capacity event since the pandemic began, hosted San Gabriel Valley officials and a live audience of over 200 people. The program was also live streamed on Southwest Carpenters Facebook and social channels to give viewers at home the opportunity to join in on the discussion. SWRCC Leadership and civic leaders from the San Gabriel Valley discussed topics surrounding construction industry tax fraud, pathways to careers, and community wealth. Local 951 Union Carpenters Help Repair Wild Bird Center

Local 951 Union Carpenters turned out to support the Coachella Valley Wild Bird Center which needed dire repairs. The center is a non-profit created for the care and rehabilitation of orphaned, injured, or sick native wild birds with the goal of releasing them back into their natural habitats. County Supervisor Manny Perez and friend of the Union thanked all in attendance for their professionalism and participation.

Sen. Hickenlooper Set to Visit Colorado Training Center

This week, Senator John Hickenlooper will make a stop at the Local 555 to visit the training center. This visit is part of an Infrastructure Tour the Southwest Carpenters will be hosting with Carpenter-backed officials throughout the Southwest. As the topic of infrastructure continues to be discussed across the country, the Southwest Carpenters will continue to meet with elected officials to ensure that infrastructure projects are built with Union labor.
