Wage Theft in San Diego
The news of wage theft in San Diego keeps breaking. A couple of weeks ago NBC San Diego ran an investigative story on wage theft. Now, the San Diego Union-Tribune has run a story of their own. San Diego has a big problem with wage theft, labor trafficking, and cash pay. Due to the proximity to the border with Mexico, bad actor contractors can utilize day labor to fortify their bottom lines. This topic is obviously picking up steam with San Diego media, and they’re keeping an eye on the issue.
It’s Halloween Time in the Southwest

LAX Expansion Grows
The $6 billion LAX Airfield Terminal Modernization Project has been given the go-ahead by the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners. The project is now set to go before L.A. City Council for final approval. In anticipation of its arrival, Councilman Mike Bonin brought forth a series of motions focused on having Los Angeles World Airports use the project to advance sustainability, airport access, and worker protections. Bonin represents the areas surrounding the airport.
LAX officials have said that the upgrade will reduce nearby congestion and improve the customer experience. It is also expected that the project will create 4,700 new long term jobs as well as thousands of construction jobs.
