SWMSRCC TOP THREE: WEEK OF OCTOBER 4

Here is the SWMSRCC Top Three for the week of October 4th.

Thank You to Local 555

A Thank You dinner was held in Denver to acknowledge the outstanding work by Local 555 Carpenters restoring the home of the Gaines family.

Last year, an Adams County family with eight children, all with special needs, were displaced from their home after it was deemed unsafe for the children to live in. During a welfare check, Adams County Sheriff’s deputies determined the family home was not safe for children, as it needed major repairs.

Local 555 were asked to help with this project by Adams County Commissioner Charles Tedesco.  Commissioner Tedesco also enlisted the help of the Colorado Building Trades, Plumbers, Electricians, Painters, and together with the Union Carpenters, they renovated the Gaines home from the basement to the roof.

Reporter Melissa Sandoval interviewed Local 619 Representative Javier Santizo, and unidentified workers, to dig deep into the issue of cash pay in America’s Finest City.  Watch the story here.
