Local 562 Annual Picnic & Pin Ceremony
Local 562 and WA 710 hosted the Local 562 Annual Picnic and Pin Ceremony on Saturday. Members and their families were treated to a morning of food, rafles, and fun. Members were also presented with pins for their years of service. Thank you Local 562 for coordinating a great event and congratulations once again to all pin recipients.
WA 001 and Local 661 Backpack Drop Off in Sun Valley
On Friday, Local 661 and Women’s Auxiliary 001 dropped off 100 backpacks filled with supplies to the students of Fernangeles Elementary School. Students were then treated to a Q & A session where they learned more about Union Carpenters. We thank everyone who participated and made this event possible.
Suicide Prevention Month
September is Suicide Prevention Month. Suicide remains the leading cause of death among construction workers. This month we remind everyone to keep their head on a swivel and keep mental health resources on hand to share with a brother or sister in need. If you or someone are in need of resources, please reference the BOSS stickers and QR codes at the job sites (usually located on gang boxes) or visit swmscarpenters.org/mental-health. It is up to us to break the stigma.
