SWMSRCC TOP THREE: WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 19

Here is the SWMSRCC Top Three for the week of September 19th.

Local 805 Journeyman Graduation:

Local 805 graduated it’s latest class of Journeyman over the weekend.  50 Journeyman received certificates from EST Rodriguez at the event.  The valedictorian was Journeyman Sarah Boulger. This event at Local 805 kicks off a new season of graduation events throughout Southern California.

Local 909 Backpack Drive for Hysperia School District:

Local 909 in coordination with Supervisor Cook’s office donated 400 backpacks to Hysperia Unified School District – Student Services Department. Backpacks will be distributed to HUSD K-12 students, including low-income and foster youth, in desperate need of resources. This giveaway is a direct result of Southwest Mountain States Carpenters’ council-wide initiative to give back to the younger members in our communities. Donations have been collected by Local 909 Union members and their families all summer long.

Local 1977 Car Show:

On Saturday, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak joined Union Carpenters and their families at the Hammers to Hoopties, Car Show and Voter Registration Drive at Local 1977 in Las Vegas.  This was the first post-pandemic member event for Las Vegas Union Carpenters and Local 1977 pulled out all the stops: blood drive, kids activities, food trucks, and much more.  This event recognized the hard work that Union Carpenters put into building Las Vegas, supported the community by encouraging voter participation, and helped to alleviate the blood shortage in Las Vegas.
