High school students celebrated Signing Days, National Infrastructure Week kicks off, and the U.S. Secretary of Labor toured the Denver Training Center.

Secretary of Labor Tours Denver Training Center

Last week, Colorado Local 555 hosted United States Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer for a tour of the Denver Carpenters Training Center. We appreciate her visit, and for meeting with our apprentices and recognizing the critical role Apprenticeship programs play in building a strong, future-ready workforce.

Chavez-DeRemer was  sworn in as the 30th Secretary of Labor in March, and has been a long-time supporter of labor unions.

Career Connections Signing Days – Locals 714 and 1319

Career Connections hosted two Signing Days for Locals 714 and 1319 last week. The events acknowledge high school seniors who have completed the program, and are enroute to successful Union carpentry careers. Orange County Carpenters in California and Albuquerque Carpenters in New Mexico showed up to support the high school students who completed the program, offering them recognition for the time and commitment they made to the program. These students are now well equipped with the knowledge needed to work on job sites as soon as this summer.

Infrastructure Week 2025

It is National Infrastructure Week, and WSRCC is proud to have taken part in several well-known, significant infrastructure projects over the years. Our Carpenters build our schools, roads, bridges, and other vital infrastructure fixtures in our communities. Thanks to bipartisan funding, we can maintain and develop the country’s vital frameworks, while keeping our Carpenters working.
