Union Built: Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center

Sitka, AK. Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center a Vital Extension of SEARHC.

Our Carpenters in Sitka, Alaska are currently building Edgecumbe Medical Center, an expansion of the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium. The $300M project includes Concrete and steel stud scope with the potential for additional Carpenter work scopes. Construction will continue through at least 2025. It is projected that up to 35 members will work on-site throughout the project.

The new campus includes a 25-bed hospital with an emergency department and four operating rooms, and a new six-floor primary care facility offering laboratory and radiological services. The project will be vital to the Sitka community, as it is located on Japonski Island, which has no bridges or roads connecting to Alaska’s mainland.
