US REPRESENTATIVE SUSIE LEE VISITS LAS VEGAS TRAINING CENTER

Representative Lee Visited Apprenticeship Classes and Talked Infrastructure Bill.

The Southwest Mountain States Regional Council of Carpenters (SWMSRCC) and Local 1977 hosted U.S. Representative Susie Lee (D, NV-03) for a discussion on the Infrastructure investments and Jobs Act, known as the bipartisan infrastructure bill. This law will create opportunities for working, union families in Nevada.  Rep. Lee discussed the law’s historic investments to rebuild our roads and bridges, upgrade our schools and buildings, expand transit, and create more resilient energy and water systems, and she heard directly from the people working to build better cities, communities, and careers.

Representative Lee visited training classes and toured the Training Center in Las Vegas to see the Apprenticeship program in full swing.  The Apprentices will be building the new infrastructure that is coming to Nevada and Rep. Lee wanted to them to know that she gives her full support to the Southwest Carpenters.

“I fought to bring Democrats and Republicans together to pass the bipartisan infrastructure law because I understand just how critical it is that we rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and create good-paying union jobs in the process,” said Rep. Susie Lee. “This law will create tens of thousands of union jobs in Nevada alone, accelerating our path to full employment and bringing workers who have been left behind into the labor force. It was an honor to sit down today with the hardworking Union Carpenters who are going to rebuild southern Nevada’s infrastructure, and I will always have their back as we create a stronger Nevada.”

The Las Vegas Sun was on-hand to cover the visit.  Read the article Here.
