WSRCC Top Three: Week of May 28th

Here is the WSRCC Top Three for the week of May 28th

Memorial Day Volunteer Efforts

Dozens of Carpenters participated in Memorial Day events across the Council last weekend. Members in Arizona,California, Nevada, and Washington, many of whom are veterans, took part in flag placements across the Council. We had an impressive turnout by Local 909 and Local 951 members and their families to Riverside National Cemetery, while Local 360 placed nearly 4,000 flags in an hours time at Orting Soldiers Home Cemetery. Thank you to all who spent their weekends honoring our fallen soldiers showing our true Union brotherhood colors.

Washington Habitat for Humanity Affordable housing

Washington Union Carpenters put their expert skills and commitment to building better communities to practice by volunteering at the Telegraph Townhomes Project, a Habitat for Humanity initiative. Eventually 52 total permanently affordable housing units will be available exclusively to low-income Whatcom County residents. Union Carpenters from across Western Washington assisted with the finishing touches on four housing units, bringing 16 units to completion last week.
