Virtual SIBS Conference
This Saturday, the WSRCC held its inaugural Virtual SIBS Conference! Sisters from across 12 states joined on for an afternoon of very special guest speakers, presentations, and insights from fellow Sisters. Over 200 Sisters and Siblings were present, with special message from UBC General Vice President Tommy Flynn to kick off the conference. Guest speakers shared valuable information on various topics including organizing and getting involved, leading from where you are, to gender based violence in the workplace. Attendees were also visibly ecstatic to see video messages from two influential and inspiring women; legendary labor leader Dolores Huerta and United States Vice President Kamala Harris. Thanks to all for attending and special shout out to our SIBs for putting the ‘U’ in Union!
Locals 503, 96, & 196 Portland Graduation
Graduation season is heating up across the WSRCC. Most recently, Portland Locals 503, 96, 196 held their first Journeyman graduation. Families gathered to celebrate their loved ones crossing the stage and completing their apprenticeship journey as full fledged Journeyman Carpenters. The graduates, who dedicated themselves to honing their craft and mastering the skills required in their trade, are now ready to embark on the next chapter of their professional lives as Journeymen.
