WSRCC Top Three: Week of December 2nd

Here is the WSRCC Top Three for the week of December 2nd.

Attorney General Rob Banta Press Conference

Last week, California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed 31 criminal charges against US Framing West and two employees for wage theft and tax evasion. US Framing West failed to pay over $2.5 million in payroll taxes and underpaid workers on public projects. This is a major win for California workers as the state continues to fight labor law violations. AG Bonta was joined by Labor leaders to discuss the impact of these violations on workers and the construction industry.

661 Christmas Tree Giveaway

Local 661 is kicking off the season of giving this Saturday with the Veteranas of Foreign Wars’ annual Christmas tree giveaway. Sponsored by the WSRCC, this year’s event is set to be even larger, as the sponsorship has matched the number of trees, doubling available to benefit the Inglewood community and its veterans. The drive up giveaway is also relocating from the Veteranas of Foreign Wars Post 2122 to the Kia Forum, making it more accessible than ever. Everyone is welcome to come and secure a Christmas tree—click here for more details.

Celebrate the Season with Your Union Family!

The holiday season is here, and we’d love for you to join your Union family in celebrating! Be sure to reach out to your Local for details about any upcoming holiday gatherings and events.

This weekend, California Local 805 took part in the Santa Paula Christmas Night Parade, kicking things into high gear with a festive float. Carpenters and their families waved to the crowd from a larger-than-life wooden Adirondack chair on a raised flatbed, spreading holiday cheer and showing the true spirit of the season.

We hope you’ll join in on the fun and celebrate the season with your Local by getting involved.
