New Mexico Podcast Pod

Union Carpenters of Local 1319 teamed up with Byron Powdrell, Albuquerque radio personality, to provide a local Highland High School room with a much-needed facelift so that students may have the opportunity to delve into the world of podcasting and radio hosting. This CUPP opportunity hit close to home as many of our Carpenter volunteers are Alumni of Highland High. Their dedication exemplifies a strong commitment to community, embodying the essence of community wealth by giving back.

Arizona Citizenship Workshop

Local 1912 Union Carpenters continue their partnership with Poder Latinx to host a citizenship workshop for Union and community members. Trained volunteers completed N-400 applications for eligible permanent residents and immigration lawyers were present to review and answer any questions that applicants may have had. The success of these workshops has resulted in over 70 community members attaining their citizen status.

Alaska CTE Career Connections

Our Brothers and Sisters in of Local 1281 in Alaska are braving the elements in effort to strengthen CTE Career Connections pathways in Local high schools. Just this week, Union representatives will be visiting two High schools to help inform educators and students about the great opportunities that await graduating students in a career path a Union Carpenter.
