WSRCC Top Three Week of January 27th

Here is the Top three for the week of January 27th.

Hilda Solis Food Drive

Local 721 Union Carpenters and 007 Women’s Auxiliary put boots to the ground to lend a hand at the San Gabriel Valley Drive-Thru Food Distribution at Irwindale speedway. This event came together in support of families impacted by widespread power outages and the recent LA fires. This event was hosted by LA Supervisor Hilda Solis, stepping up to make a difference in our communities. We admire our members for their continued support to stand strong and help those in need.

Local 1977 Sleeping in Heavenly Peace

Nevada Carpenters Local 1977 partnered up with the nonprofit organization, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, to help build beds for families in need. This past Saturday Union Carpenters donated their time and expertise to help volunteers at a local trade school build the beds out of and donated wood. Over 20 CTE Student volunteers helped sand and assemble the beds ahead of delivery for families in need.

Arizona Contractor Forced to Pay up by DOL

Recently, the U.S. Department of Labor has obtained a consent judgment ordering Apodaca Wall Systems Inc. and Empire Wall Systems to pay $7,450,000 in back wages and damages after investigators found the employers willfully denied overtime pay to more than 1,400 employees. This is a great win for works in Arizona.
