GOTV Voter Registration Efforts

Volunteer Union Carpenters have been out-and-about registering members to vote. Local 951 Representatives have been visiting job sites – setting up tables with registration forms – before work and during lunch breaks aiming to make a difference at the polls this November. Locals have also been hosting voter registration phone-banking CUPP events in effort to meet the Council-wide voter registration goal of 70% by the November elections.

Blanca Rubio visits Habitat for Humanity Build

Last Saturday, members of Local 213 Carpenters Union volunteered their time and skills to assist Habitat for Humanity in constructing a home for a deserving family in Baldwin Park. Nearly a dozen volunteers from Local 213 and Local 721 showcased their expertise in roofing and framing, collaborating closely with Habitat for Humanity volunteers. Assembly member Blanca Rubio joined Union Carpenter Representatives to witness the project’s advancement, commending the professionalism and meticulous attention to detail exhibited by our Carpenters every day.

 

Foreman Steward Meetings kick-off in Alaska

Alaska Local 1281 is starting off strong hosting its first Forman Steward meetings. ALP meetings help mentor Apprentices by instilling in them the knowledge and skills to build a better Union. Vice-President Frank Zambrano was present in Anchorage for the inaugural meeting. Early mentorship combined with Apprentice involvement helps our members achieve success and builds stronger leaders.
