Washington Habitat for Humanity Build

Local 425 Union Carpenters recently collaborated with Habitat for Humanity of Whatcom County over the weekend. Our Sisters volunteered their time to donate their skills by taking on the build of backyard decks at the Telegraph Townhomes Project. We take pride in the valuable contributions our Sisters are making within their communities and look forward to the positive impact that their efforts will bring about.

 

Local 1912 hosts Girls Build

Arizona Union Carpenters hosted the weeklong ‘Let’s Build Construction Camp for Girls’ this past week in partnership with CSI phoenix. Girls aged 8-12 were introduced to the various aspects of a career in the trades including wood framing, sheet rock and finish work. Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego visited the Carpenters Training Center on the final day of camp to engage with the participants and discuss their innovative designs, closing out the week by showcasing their efforts during the open house, where families were warmly welcomed to witness the fruits of their hard work.

 

Local 619 Carpenters help San Diego Flood victims

San Diego Union Carpenters have stepped up to support their community by lending their expert skills to restore the home of local resident Elaine Jefferson. Elaine, who has been living in a hotel due to mold issues in her house after recently floods, found herself in dire need of assistance. Demonstrating their commitment to service and solidarity, Carpenters worked diligently to make repairs to walls and flooring throughout the home. Their efforts will make a true impact on their neighbors in times of need.
