Here is the Top Three for the week of November 20th.

Turkey drives

Looking ahead to the Thanksgiving holiday Local 619, Locals 213 and 721 participated in Turkey Drives to the benefit of their communities. Union Carpenters in San Diego joined Councilmember Raul Campillo to give back to the Linda Vista community, helping families by handing out turkeys and pies. While Los Angeles Locals with the aid of the Women’s Auxiliary 007, joined electeds in Boyle Heights, and Maywood in advance of Thanksgiving. California Assembly member Miguel Santiago participated in the events in Los Angeles and welcomed community volunteers. We are proud of the impact our Carpenters have in their communities on and off the jobsite.

Lunch with the President

On Friday, President Sean Hartranft visited Union Carpenters for a lunch at the I-10 restoration project. The Security Paving and Griffith Company project is currently employing nearly 90 Carpenters working in shifts around the clock. President Hartfranft spoke on the historical significance of this project combined with how important it is to look out for the wellbeing of our fellow workers and to keep our heads on a swivel to sure that each and every day all of our Brothers and Sisters return home safely to our families.

 

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Delivery 

Carpenters Local Union 635 in Idaho partnered up with the nonprofit organization, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, to provide beds for families in need. Union Carpenters donated their time to build the beds and delivered them to families this past Saturday.
