Southern California Union Carpenters took to the streets of Wilmington to celebrate Labor Day in style. Shoulder-to-shoulder with our Brothers and Sisters, over 600 Union Carpenters and their families filled the streets and enjoyed a day of picnicking at Banning Park.
In the lead-up to Labor Day, the City of Los Angeles honored the Carpenters, along with other local unions, in recognition of the 130th anniversary of Labor Day. WSRCC Executive Board Member Kyle Patterson proudly received a certificate of recognition, celebrating the WSRCC’s dedication to our communities.

Our Brothers and Sisters from Millwright Local 1607 in Colorado proudly took part in their community’s Labor Day parade this holiday weekend. Participating in Labor Day parades is a cherished tradition for the WSRCC, tracing back to 1882 when the Carpenters organized the very first Labor Day parade.
Additionally, Carpenters Local 555 donned their antique best to volunteer at Rockledge Ranch in Colorado Springs for their annual Labor Day Celebration. Union Carpenters took part in the living history wood shop exhibit, where they helped children craft wooden benches, bringing a touch of tradition and hands-on learning to the event.

Local 1243 Union Carpenters and their families participated in the 40th Annual Labor Day Parade in Fairbanks. Their presence highlighted the rich history of the labor movement in establishing this day. Demonstrating ongoing solidarity with other unions, celebrating the progress and unity that have shaped workers’ rights over the years.
